While traveling through Rajasthan, India, Paris-based designer Bruno Lamy discovered the traditional art form of hand-blockprinting used to make fabric called Indienne. Impressed and inspired, Mr. Lamy returned to Paris and began creating a visually enticing array of vintage-inspired linens that has become known as Couleur Nature. Sold throughout Europe and North America, Couleur Nature has quickly become a household must for the sophisticated consumer.
The art of hand-block printing is an intricate and extensive process with over 100 studied movements. The local craftsmen use hand-carved teakwood blocks to carefully apply layers of dye. The cloths are washed and dried after each new colour is applied; only after all of the colours have been applied is the fabric cut and sewn. Inherent to this artisanal process, tones and finish vary, thereby guaranteeing a unique and beautiful collection of linens.
Couleur Nature collections are designed by Bruno Lamy in his Paris studio. Designs are inspired by the rich French traditions of Provence as well as the delicately beautiful French countryside. Their signature designs embrace the beauty of various floral, fruit, and fauna prints in a variety of vibrant and sophisticated styles with a touch of whimsy.
The beautiful and original Couleur Nature designs are perfect for Paris Apartment, Vintage Flea Market, Eclectic, French Farmhouse, and French Country decorating styles. This brand has been featured in Lucky, Victoria, Country Living, Old House Interiors, Better Homes and Gardens, Your Home, and Bridal Guide magazines.
