The Laguiole brand is synonymous with high quality knives, but contrary to what one might think, Laguiole is the name of a town, not a brand. As a result, anybody can make Laguiole knives, and lately many inferior copies have been flooding the market. The Laguiole knives we carry are made by two companies from Thiers, Jean Dubost and SCIP.
